Creek Week 2010 in Placer County is from April 9th - 18th, 2010.
Creek Week celebrates the importance of our urban nature areas with volunteer work and educational events. As many as 800 residents have participated in previous years.
Please check the Site List (located under Creek Week Downloads in the right column) for a location you're interested in and sign up yourself and/or group for the clean-up!
Placer County Creek Week is organized by a committee of local schools, businesses and agencies led by Dry Creek Conservancy. Donations are solicited from local government and businesses to cover organizational costs and Creek Week T-shirts for all volunteers.

Guided Bird watching on South Fork Pleasant Grove Cr. (Open space area)

South Fork Pleasant Grove open space is Blue Oak woodland and riparian habitat that has great surroundings for many birds especially spring Warbler migrants. Birders of all levels are invited to enjoy a beautiful spring day in one of Roseville’s most pleasant nature areas. Meet local Audubon leader, Scott Dietrich at Adam V Baquera Park. Beavers on Miners Ravine
Tuesday, April 13th, 6:30 pm
Learn about the life of beavers and why their population is growing from local beaver expert, Mary Tappel. Meet at trailhead near UA theaters parking lot at Eureka and North Sunrise. Woodcreek Nature Center Tour
Wednesday, April 14th, 6:30 pm
Join student docents as they lead a tour of the Nature Center. Meet at the entrance to Roseville Aquatics Complex next to Woodcreek High School at 2551 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd.
Cleanups and Workdays
Kaseberg Creek Restoration Project, Mahany Park, Roseville
Saturday, April 10th, 9am – noon
April 10th work will concentrate on invasive plant removal, site cleanup, and preparation for planting under supervision of John Williams of TerraCare and City of Roseville staff.

April 17th volunteers will install woody and herbaceous container plantings along Kaseberg creek under supervision of Chad Aakre of Restoration Resources and Roseville City staff.

Roseville Creek & Open Space Clean-up

Town of Loomis – Nature Walk, Clean up and Tree Planting
Saturday, April 17th, 9:00 to Noon
Walk with a naturalist through the newly acquired Heritage Park property in Loomis. Learn about the native flora and fauna found in and around the beautiful pond and creek setting. Help with cleaning up a key piece of wetland habitat in the center of downtown Loomis. Volunteer to plant and adopt a native tree. Sign up to volunteer for a tree planting program in the coming fall planting season. Meet at Loomis Heritage Park, at the foot of Walnut Street, downtown Loomis.
